RISE OF WIND FARM!!!

  • In 2009, KINFRA invited Expression of Interest for a wind farm project.
  • M/s Inox Renewable Ltd selected  for final   round & awarded the contract to set up 22 MW wind energy on 27.5Acres land leased  from Kinfra Integrated Textile Park Kanjikode.
  • Involved in revising the RE- Policy Wind against IDC @ 20 lac/MW to actual.
  • In 2013 – Initiated for getting Zone wise tariff  like in the other States through Hon. Commission.
  • Project started execution during Nov 2016.
  • Connectivity obtained from KSEB on 24.03.2017
  • 16 MW Project completed and commissioned on 28.03.2017 out of  22MW.
  • There are 8 Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) each having a production capacity of 2 MW.
  • The cost of setting up each machines in an area of 2.5 Acres comes around 15 Crores.
  • Once commissioned, the machines will be operated remotely using SCADA control system from Inox headquarters in Noida.

The Kerala State Electricity Board Limited will buy the power generated from all 8 WEG plants as per the tariff determined by the Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission.

Renewable Energy Scenario in Kerala

‐ Off the total renewable resource, Mr. Suku Nayar, representing, M/s Inox Renewable was instrumental in single handedly installing 22 MW of wind energy. This amounts to 37% of the total renewable energy resources in wind sector .
